DNO - South Korea remains a key source market for Da Nang’s tourism sector. Strengthening connections with dynamic localities such as Daegu will contribute to diversifying the source of tourists, expanding opportunities for product cooperation, and enhancing the effectiveness of bilateral tourism promotion.

Establishing reciprocal tourism promotion points
Da Nang, Vietnam and Daegu, South Korea, have officially set up tourism promotion points in each other’s locality in a concrete step to implement their Memorandum of Understanding.
In Da Nang, the Daegu tourism showcase area is located at the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center. It provides destination information, publications and key products such as medical tourism, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), and a series of international events.
Meanwhile, Da Nang’s tourism promotion corner at the Daegu Tourist Information Center highlights the image of Da Nang as a dynamic coastal destination with products tailored to the South Korean market, including resort holidays, golf and MICE, alongside distinctive cultural and culinary values.
This parallel presence establishes a stable promotional channel, greatly contributing to stronger market visibility and boosting two-way visitor exchanges.
Following the working visit of Acting Mayor Kim Jeong-gi to Da Nang in January 2026, the establishment of these tourism points stands as tangible proof of a flexible, direct and sustainable model of cooperation between the two cities.

Beyond amplifying destination branding, the bilateral tourism introduction points are also expected to serve as a regular bridge connecting authorities, businesses and the market on both sides.
According to plan, Da Nang’s tourism sector will participate in promotion and business networking activities in Daegu in July 2026, thereby further consolidating the city’s presence in South Korea which is one of Da Nang’s key international source markets.
Enhancing linkages toward sustainable cooperation
Vietnam is increasingly emerging as a favorite destination for South Korean travelers not only for its convenient access and competitive costs, but also for its well-rounded appeal in terms of experience, safety, emotional connection and cultural affinity.
This provides an important foundation for the South Korean market to continue expanding in a stable, sustainable and in-depth manner, contributing positively to Vietnam’s tourism development goals in the years ahead.

Destinations such as Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Phu Quoc are becoming top choices for South Korean holidaymakers. These destinations have gained strong traction across media and social platforms, driven by their strengths in beach resorts, golf tourism, wellness travel, MICE and blended business-leisure models.
According to the Korea Tourism Organization, the number of South Korean tourists visiting Southeast Asia rose from nearly 2.5 million in 2022 to 9.8 million in 2024. In the first nine months of 2025 alone, ASEAN welcomed an estimate of 6.1 million South Korean visitors. Of these, Vietnam received around 3.2 million, accounting for nearly 53% of the total South Korean arrivals to the region.
Notably, in 2025, Da Nang reached the milestone of one million South Korean visitors within the first seven months of the year. The achievement not only demonstrates the city’s growing appeal but also stands as vivid evidence of the increasingly strong ties between the people of the two countries.
With South Korean travelers remaining a key source of visitors, expanding cooperation with dynamic cities like Daegu reflects a strategic approach to market diversification and brand reinforcement. The regular presence of each destination within the other’s promotional network is expected to facilitate exchange, deepen visitor experiences and foster long-term, sustainable tourism connectivity.
