DNO - The 2026 Vietnam - Japan Festival concluded on the evening of July 12 at East Sea Park, wrapping up four days of vibrant activities that promoted bilateral cooperation, cultural exchange, and community engagement.

A key highlight of this year's festival was the conference "Meet Japan in Da Nang: Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Towards a Sustainable Future".
The event included a series of bilateral meetings between Da Nang's leaders and representatives of Japanese local governments, organisations, and businesses, along with the signing of several memoranda of understanding that established a foundation for future cooperation.

As part of the festival, Japanese delegations conducted site visits to the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park, Software Park No. 2, and the city's International Financial Centre to explore the local investment environment, development strategies, and emerging partnership opportunities.
In addition to official activities, the festival offered a vibrant cultural programme featuring nearly 100 booths showcasing the culture, cuisine, tourism, products, and services of Vietnam and Japan. Visitors also enjoyed art performances, exhibitions, sports exchanges, hands-on cultural experiences, and various community activities that attracted large numbers of residents and visitors.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mori Takero, Consul General of Japan in Da Nang, said the festival once again demonstrated the growing friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan while serving as an important platform for strengthening ties among localities, businesses, organisations, and people of the two countries.

Nguyen Xuan Binh, Director of the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs, said the festival has reaffirmed its role as one of the city's flagship international events, contributing to stronger people-to-people exchanges and broader practical cooperation across multiple sectors. He added that the city will continue to innovate and enhance the festival to make future editions even more diverse and engaging.
The closing ceremony also featured the finals of the Cosplay Competition, one of the festival's most popular events, drawing enthusiastic participation from young people portraying characters from Japanese animation and popular culture.
