Da Nang completes shared infrastructure for Lien Chieu Port

DNO - On March 28, Da Nang City held a ceremony to announce the completion of Lien Chieu Port’s shared infrastructure and launch the investment project for its container terminal.

Present at the ceremony were senior city leaders, including Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang, Chairman Pham Duc An, and other officials.

According to Deputy Director of the city’s Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects Management Board Nguyen Duc Nam, Lien Chieu Port’s shared infrastructure, worth VND 3,426.3 billion, includes breakwaters, a 7.3km channel, a six-lane access road, and supporting utilities.

Launched in December 2022, the project was completed after 1,200 days, creating a key foundation for port investment. A 2.96km coastal road to Lien Chieu Port, started in September 2023, has also been built and is now technically open to traffic.

The city has approved the Lien Chieu container port project, with a total investment of VND 45,268 billion, featuring eight terminals and modern, green infrastructure.

A consortium consisting of Hateco Group, Hateco Seaport, and APM Terminals (Netherlands) was selected as investors on March 16, 2026. The project will operate for 50 years, with an implementation timeline of 3,639 days.

Chairman Pham Duc An stressed seaport development as key to positioning Da Nang as a regional logistics hub, with Lien Chieu Port a major gateway and growth driver.

He said the completed infrastructure, opened coastal road, and selection of a strategic investor mark a new phase in developing the port’s container terminals.

City leaders called for continued central support to finalize policies and invest in remaining infrastructure and connectivity to maximize the port’s efficiency.

They urged investors to mobilize resources and begin construction using advanced technologies toward a green, smart port, while assigning agencies to expedite procedures and complete transport links.

Local authorities were also asked to ensure security and community welfare, and 45 collectives and individuals were honored for their contributions.
