Da Nang is spearheading a strategic port integration plan linking Hue, Chu Lai, Dung Quat, and Quy Nhon, aiming to build a unified logistics corridor that boosts regional connectivity and elevates central Vietnam’s position in global maritime trade.
The cited plan highlights the strategic importance of forming a cohesive port cluster to capitalize on the strengths of existing infrastructure across ports such as Chan May, Tien Sa, Ky Ha, Dung Quat and Quy Nhon.
Enhanced port integration is expected to reduce logistics costs, improve cargo handling capacity, and elevate the international competitiveness of Central Vietnam’s seaports.
Da Nang also benefits from a well-established transportation network, including highways, railways, and coastal routes, enabling seamless regional and intermodal connectivity.
The city proposes the development of shared logistics policies, coordination centers, and smart supply chain management systems to support port collaboration and service quality.
In addition, Da Nang is calling for policies that prioritize road and waterway links between the city and surrounding industrial zones.
Investments in a modern fleet of container and feeder vessels are also encouraged to support domestic shipping and expand the region’s role in global logistics.
With its strategic location connecting Central Vietnam, the Central Highlands, southern Laos, and northeastern Cambodia, Da Nang is positioned as a vital gateway to international maritime routes.
By deepening cooperation with global ports and shipping lines, the city aims to play a leading role in regional supply chains and drive long-term economic growth.
