DNO - Da Nang leaders hosted receptions on Thursday for outgoing Consul General of South Korea in Da Nang Kang Boosung who came to bid farewell at the end of his tenure in the city.
Standing Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh highly praised Mr. Kang Boosung for his great efforts in connecting Da Nang with South Korean partners and localities, and coordinating with the municipal Department of Foreign Affairs to organize the annual Vietnam - South Korea Festival.
Mr. Vinh also expressed his delight at stronger bilateral ties between Viet Nam and South Korea in various areas such as economy, trade, investment, culture, education and tourism since the establishment in 1992.
When receiving South Korean diplomat on the same day, Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet highlighted that Mr. Kang Boosung acted as a bridge, contributing to promoting cooperation between South Korean enterprises and the former Da Nang and Quang Nam Province as well as the new Da Nang.
He informed that South Korea is currently the fourth-largest investor in the newly formed Da Nang, and the central city now operates 11 direct flight routes to destinations across South Korea.
For his part, South Korean Consul General in Da Nang Kang Boosung expressed his sincere thanks for the local leaders for their strong support and cooperation throughout his tenure.
Mr. Kang Boosung shared that serving in Da Nang has been one of the greatest honors of his diplomatic career. He expressed hope to continue contributing to the friendship and cooperation between South Korea and Vietnam, as well as between South Korean localities and Da Nang in the coming time.
