DNO - The Bay Mau Nipa Palm Forest in Cam Thanh Village is currently one of the most popular tourist attractions in Da Nang.

Located about 3km from the Hoi An Ancient Town, the Bay Mau Nipa Palm Forest is nestled within Cam Thanh Village which was named among the world’s 50 "Best Tourism Villages" by U.S. magazine Forbes in 2025.
In addition to a peaceful and refreshing escape, the tourist attraction provides visitors with a closer look at local life and culture.
It also highlights the historical and cultural values that have been preserved over generations.
The site becomes a distinctive destination for travelers seeking authentic experiences in Da Nang.

A ride in a traditional basket boat is more than simply a means of transportation; it is a naturally unfolding journey of discovery.
The boatmen are not only guides but also storytellers. Their tales of the coconut forest, life along the waterways, fishing seasons and the changing seasons of fish and water are told in a simple, down-to-earth manner, adding life and character to the experience.

One of the most distinctive experiences at the forest is the traditional “basket boat dance”.
The tranquil atmosphere suddenly gives way to excitement as a basket boat begins spinning rapidly on the water.
Fast, decisive rotations, performed while maintaining perfect balance, create a mix of thrilling and delightful.
The performance is more than an entertaining show. It is rooted in the practical skills of local residents and has been transformed into an experience that visitors can take part in themselves.
Only after trying to spin a basket boat can visitors truly appreciate the dexterity and experience of those who have spent their entire lives mastering these small boats.

In the coming time, a new sightseeing route called “Returning to Cam Thanh - Listen to the Coconut Trees’ Stories” will soon be launched at the Bay Mau Nipa Palm Forest.
The route will combine basket-boat experiences with traditional crafts, local performing arts, culture and community life.
Recently, the Bay Mau Nipa Palm Forest has been selected as one of the five Vietnamese candidates for the annual “Best Tourism Villages” Award in 2026 program by the United Nations Tourism (UN Tourism).
The nomination could put Hoi An’s distinctive ecological and cultural heritage on the global tourism map, giving Cam Thanh a chance to gain international recognition.
