DNO - Da Nang is blessed by nature with many beautiful beaches and pristine islands, creating a majestic and poetic landscape. Following the recent merger, the city has more opportunities to develop island tourism into an inviting destination for tourists.
According to many businesses that have been operating in the city for many years, Da Nang Bay, Son Tra Peninsula, and Hai Van Mountain are valuable "treasures".
Specifically, the Da Nang Bay has an average radius of 13 km and a water depth of 15 - 30 meters. On both sides, the Hai Van and Son Tra mountains provide protection, creating an ideal wind-sheltered area, especially from March to September.
Meanwhile, the Son Tra Peninsula is a prime location for Da Nang in many aspects such as national security, historical culture, natural geography, and environmental ecology.
The peninsula is now home to many large and small beaches, including Tien Sa, Da Den, Cat Vang, Nom, Rang, Xep and But. Many beaches here remain pristine, making them ideal for eco-tourism development.
Also, beaches along the Hai Van Mountain slope, with one side being the Hai Van Pass and the other side being the Da Nang Bay, such as Sung Co, Xoan, Dua and Chinh (Van Village) are also very charming.
Notably, in 2025, Son Cha Island (located at the foot of Hai Van Mountain) was transferred to Da Nang from Hue, contributing to the diversity and uniqueness of the Da Nang island ecosystem.
Located at the foot of the Hai Van Pass, the Son Cha Island, also known as Hon Chao or Ngoc Island, looks like an upside-down pan from afar.
It features a rich marine ecosystem, including corals, seaweed and colorful fish, which creates a magical and sparkling sea world. With its fine white sand and clear sea water, the island is an ideal destination for tourists to relax and explore its natural beauty.
Recently, the People's Committee of Da Nang has issued a plan to organize water recreation and entertainment activities in coastal areas and along both banks of the Han River from 2025 to 2030.
The plan aims to promote the advantages of marine resources and the Han River to develop diverse types of tourism products.
By doing this, the city hopes to attract more domestic and foreign tourists, satisfy the entertainment needs of locals, and actively contribute to the growth of the local economy.
