As the land where the small state of Amaravati, considered the center of the Cham kingdom, once existed for many centuries, the Quang Nam - Da Nang region remains rich in Cham heritage sites.

Specifically, the most famous Cham architectural complex in former Quang Nam Province is the My Son Sanctuary.

Other Cham towers include the Bang An Tower in An Thang Ward, the Chien Dan Tower in Tay Ho Commune, and the Khuong My Tower in Tam Xuan Commune.

In Dong Duong Commune, there is the Dong Duong Buddhist Monastery, which was recognized as the National Special Heritage Relic in 2019.

Other relics and ruins of Cham culture are also scattered in many places in former province, of which the most concentrated is along the My Son - Tra Kieu - Hoi An - Cua Dai - Cu Lao Cham axis, and the Thu Bon River to Hon Lao in Tan Hiep Island Commune.

Meanwhile, the Museum of Cham Sculpture in Hai Chau Ward is the largest and most unique museum dedicated to Cham culture in Vietnam. It is now home to 12 national treasures of Cham culture, and most of them originated in Quang Nam - Da Nang.

Recently, the Da Nang government has approved the investment policy for building the second campus of the Museum of Cham Sculpture in Phong Le. The project is expected to cost more than VND 140 billion funded by the city budget, and is scheduled to be completed by 2027.

Before the merger, the People's Committee of former Quang Nam Province had approved the project on preserving and restoring Bang An Tower and the North and Central Towers of the Chien Dan complex.

Notably, the tower groups at My Son have been preserved quite well thanks to the effective support of a number of countries.

According to Mr. Cao Tri Dung, Acting Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, the merger of the two localities will create favorable conditions for connecting tours, forming products, implementing promotion campaigns and synchronizing resource support, thereby helping avoid the fragmentation in the past.
