Recognized for its outstanding representation of cultural exchange and its vivid portrayal of Champa civilization, the site stands as one of Vietnam’s most iconic spiritual and historical destinations.

In early 2025, UK-based travel magazine Wanderlust named My Son Sanctuary among the top 11 most impressive spiritual destinations to explore in Vietnam.

In 2024, My Son welcomed nearly 446,000 visitors, 90% of whom were international tourists. With revenues topping VND 71.5 billion (approx. US$ 2.8 million), the majority of income came from ticket sales, reflecting the sanctuary’s enduring global appeal.

My Son has embraced innovation to enhance its appeal—introducing VR tours, multilingual audio guides, upgraded performances, and a modernized museum.

It also earned the highest three-leaf rating under Quang Nam’s Green Tourism Criteria.

Tourism experts are urging further diversification. Mr. Bui Van Tuan, the CEO of HIVOOC Company, suggested introducing eco-cultural tours that highlight My Son’s rich biodiversity, potentially linking the site with Da Nang’s Son Tra Peninsula to create immersive, sustainable travel experiences.

In June 2025, the Vietnamese Prime Minister approved a master plan for the conservation and restoration of My Son through 2035, with a long-term vision to 2050 to reaffirm the site’s role not just as a cultural landmark, but also as a flagship venue for ecological and sustainable tourism on the world stage.
