DNO - The Da Nang Extended Robotics Innovation Contest for High School Students (DERICHS) 2025 was officially opened on Friday.
This year’s event was jointly organized by the Da Nang Union of Science and Technology Associations, the municipal Department of Science and Technology, the local Department of Education and Training, the municipal Youth Union, and the University of Science and Technology.
Themed "Glory of August Autumn", this year’s event attracts the participation of 23 teams from senior high schools in the city, including one from the Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted.
The contest is a useful playground for senior high school students to engage in robotics research, design, and engineering.
With its high technical requirements and competitive format, the contest not only sparks participants’ creativity in science and technology but also hones their research skills, problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and collaboration.
At the same time, it contributes to boosting innovation in science and technology, helping students further develop their creativity, clarify their passion for science, and shape their future career paths.
Each match takes place between 2 teams in 5 minutes. Each team competes with 2 robots called Liberation Robot 1 and Liberation Robot 2.
The robots perform specific tasks such as clearing traps and mines, retrieving detonators to break into grain stores, scaling steep ramps, destroying watchtowers, climbing flag tower slopes, and planting flags at the summit.
At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee will award one first prize, one second prize, one third prize, one consolation prize, one style award and one creative prize.
