(QNO) - On June 28, a delegation of young officers from the Lao People's Army visited the Command of Vietnam Coast Guard Region 2.
The delegation received a warm welcome from Major General Tran Quang Tuan, Commander of Region 2 Coast Guard, along with representatives from the Vietnam People's Army Youth Committee and other officers of the Region 2 Command.
During the visit, the Lao officers were introduced to the functions, tasks, and proud traditions of the Vietnam Coast Guard, especially focusing on achievements. The delegation also toured the command's facilities, including the CSB 8002, patrol vessel, and learnt about the operational activities of the Region 2 Coast Guard.
Speaking at the event, Colonel Le Huy, Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 2, highlighted the long-standing friendship between Vietnam and Laos, built on shared history, solidarity, and mutual trust. He said that exchanges between young officers play a crucial role in nurturing this special relationship.
On behalf of the delegation, Head of the Lao Army's Youth Department expressed gratitude for the respectful reception.
He hoped the visit would help deepen the understanding of Vietnam's Coast Guard and contribute to strengthening cooperation between the young officers of both nations, a foundation for lasting friendship and comprehensive collaboration between Vietnam and Laos.
