Its underparts are strikingly patterned with pale, scale-like markings that give the bird its name.The munias’ vivid plumage stands out brilliantly against the green of the riverside grass.With its small, delicate build, the White-rumped Munia easily disappears among the riverside grasses.Its sturdy legs allow the White-rumped Munia to perch effortlessly on slender grass stems.Munias play an important role in controlling harmful insects, helping to maintain the balance of the local ecosystem. Various seeds, grains, and wild grasses make up the munias’ favorite diet.
