Not as noisy as the peak summer season, the city becomes more attractive because of its peaceful scenery, warm local dishes and poetic check-in spots by the sea, mountains and streets.
Favorite winter destination
Winter in Da Nang is only mildly cool, with little rainfall. Streets, cafés and tourist attractions are not too crowded, allowing you to move freely and easily find hotels with beautiful views at more affordable prices than in peak season.
Popular tourist attractions such as Hai Van Pass and Son Tra Peninsula in this season are poetic to fully enjoy the beautiful scenery.
According to a local tour guide, this season allows visitors to experience "the most authentic impression of Vietnam's most livable city" by immersing themselves in daily life, strolling along riverside roads, or sitting quietly in a museum filled with warm light.
The world-renowned travel magazine Time Out has recently ranked Vietnam among the Top 20 Best Winter Travel Destinations, highlighting its pleasant sunshine from October to February. Notably, Hoi An (Da Nang) has topped the list of best long-haul winter destinations thanks to its cost savings, ideal weather and diverse cultural experiences.
Sea calls on rainy days
Even in winter, local beaches remain a magnet for visitors. The My Khe Beach always attracts foreign tourists to surf every winter as sea water temperatures stay above 20°C and the sea waves remain favorable for water sports.
At the Simple Beach Tien Sa, a cozy beach bar tucked beneath the Son Tra Mountain, transparent domes are set up to shield guests from light drizzle, creating a warm, intimate atmosphere. Inside, laughter mingles with music, cocktails, and lively conversations.
The venue is also a destination for those who love sea sports. A new Flyboard show, a water-jet sport that lets performers soar and spin above the sea, has recently been introduced, promising to bring a fresh highlight to Da Nang’s winter tourism in the coming time.

Da Nang cuisine is a highlight every winter. Visitors can enjoy grilled seafood, hot pots, fish noodle soups, and crispy shrimp pancakes. These dishes are available year-round but somehow even more delicious in the cold weather.
Also, local restaurants and eateries attract customers by telling seasonal culinary stories, with focus on local ingredients, bringing freshness, unique flavors and authentic experiences.
Ms. Yuki Tanaka from Japan shared her recent experience at a wood-fired Quang noodle restaurant located on Ho Nghinh Street: “The restaurant space gives me a cozy, close feeling. The air fills with a gentle scent of charcoal smoke on a rainy day. A bowl of Quang noodles has rich broth and fresh vegetables. It turns out that this Da Nang specialty could taste so perfect in winter”.
With its tranquil atmosphere, inviting cuisine, and balance of sea and mountain charm, winter in Da Nang is both romantic and vibrant, making anyone want to experience it once.
