Visitor arrivals to Da Nang surge during fireworks festival

DNO - Visitor arrivals to Da Nang City during the qualifying rounds of the 2026 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) increased 34% year-on-year, highlighting the event’s growing appeal after its recognition as one of the world’s nine must-experience festivals.

According to the festival organisers, the city welcomed more than 557,000 overnight visitors during the five qualifying nights, while the average hotel occupancy rate exceeded 70% citywide.

Across the five competition nights (May 30, June 6, 13, 20 and 27), Da Nang recorded more than 557,000 overnight stays, with each fireworks night attracting over 100,000 overnight visitors. The fifth competition night on June 27 saw the highest figure of the season, with approximately 117,400 overnight visitors.

International visitors accounted for more than 233,000 arrivals, representing around 42% of the total.

They came from a wide range of markets, including India, Kazakhstan, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Australia, and the Netherlands. These visitors typically have strong spending power and make extensive use of accommodation, resort, dining, and tourism services.

Meanwhile, more than 324,000 domestic visitors highlighted DIFF's continued popularity among Vietnamese travellers.

Families, groups of friends, and weekend holidaymakers chose Da Nang not only to enjoy the spectacular fireworks displays but also to combine their trips with beach vacations, entertainment, and sightseeing throughout the city.
