DNO - Vietnam is set to host the 73rd edition of Miss World for the first time, marking a historic milestone for one of the world’s longest-running and most beauty competitions.
According to the official announcement, the global pageant will take place later this year, bringing together more than 130 contestants from across the world.
The event is expected to coincide with the 75th anniversary of Miss World, underscoring its enduring legacy since its inception in 1951 in the United Kingdom.
As reported by Vietnamese media, Julia Morley, Chairwoman of the Miss World Organization, is scheduled to travel to Ho Chi Minh City on March 29 to unveil further details during the grand finale of Miss World Vietnam 2025.
Her visit signals the official launch of preparations for what is anticipated to be one of the most significant international cultural events hosted by Vietnam in recent years.
Widely regarded as one of the two most prestigious beauty pageants globally, alongside Miss Universe, Miss World has distinguished itself through a broader evaluation framework that extends beyond physical appearance.
Contestants are assessed on their intelligence, social impact, and commitment to community initiatives.
Central to the pageant’s identity is its long-standing motto, “Beauty with a Purpose,” which emphasizes humanitarian work and social responsibility.

The 73rd Miss World pageant is expected to feature more than 130 contestants. Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc, Miss Intercontinental 2021, will represent Vietnam at this year’s competition.
The most recent edition, held in India, saw Opal Suchata of Thailand crowned as the winner, reflecting the pageant’s ongoing commitment to recognizing candidates who combine elegance with meaningful social contributions.
