Three NGOs pledge VND 62.5 billion VND to support social welfare programs in Da Nang

DNO - The Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations, on Wednesday, signed Memoranda of Understanding with three foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to carry out social welfare activities in the city during the 2025 - 2030 period with a total value of nearly US$ 2.5 million (equivalent to VND 62.5 billion).

These organizations are Giving It Back To Kids and Children of Vietnam, both from the USA, and the Australia-based Lifestart Foundation.

Specifically, the Giving It Back To Kids will support US$ 1.06 million (approximately VND 27.5 billion) to promote sustainable development and human capacity building, spread human values ​​through education, and enhance life skills and community support programs.

Children of Vietnam will provide US$ 1 million (equivalent to VND 26 billion) to support programs in education, infrastructure, nutrition and emergency relief. These programs will directly benefit thousands of children and disadvantaged households citywide.

Lifestart Foundation will donate US$ 343,500 (VND 9 billion) for educational and medical scholarship programs, along with humanitarian projects such as clean water filtration systems, bicycles, necessities and blankets for underprivileged pupils.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang Tran Thi Man praised the role of the municipal Union of Friendship Organizations as a solid bridge effectively connecting with foreign diplomatic agencies, international organizations, individuals and partners around the world with the city's government and people.

She affirmed that Da Nang will create all favorable conditions for NGOs to continue effectively implementing their programs and projects in the coming time, thereby actively contributing to the city's social welfare efforts.

Since 2021, the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations has mobilized 30 NGOs to support the implementation of more than 110 programs, projects, and non-project initiatives in such aspects as healthcare, education, sustainable poverty reduction, disaster risk mitigation, environmental protection, and social welfare with an amount of nearly VND 80 billion.
