DNO - Three luxury hospitality landmarks in Da Nang have been officially honoured in the 2026 MICHELIN Key selection. They are the Four Seasons The Nam Hai, the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort and the Namia River Retreat.
The three properties offer distinct experiences, opening up new ways for visitors to experience Da Nang through their choice of accommodation.
Situated along Ha My Beach, Four Seasons The Nam Hai, Hoi An, Vietnam retains its Two MICHELIN Keys for 2026. This is the second consecutive year the resort has held this title, making it the only Two MICHELIN Key resort in Da Nang.
The resort’s architecture and design draw inspiration from Vietnamese culture, combining private spaces, coastal scenery and experiences centered on balance and well-being.
Its location also serves as a convenient link between Ha My Beach, the heritage site of Hoi An, and other cultural destinations across Central Vietnam.
Meanwhile, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is among the new properties awarded One MICHELIN Key for 2026.
In its announcement, the MICHELIN Guide specifically highlights the resort's design as architect Bill Bensley incorporates influences from Vietnamese architecture into a highly visual setting amid the lush landscape of Son Tra Peninsula.
Another notable feature is La Maison 1888 restaurant, located within the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, which currently holds One MICHELIN Star.
This creates an interesting intersection between two MICHELIN selection systems at the same property: the MICHELIN Key for accommodation experiences and the MICHELIN Star for dining experiences.
Also making its first appearance in the 2026 One MICHELIN Key Selection, Namia River Retreat is described by the MICHELIN Guide as a retreat situated on a tranquil islet surrounded by the natural landscape of Hoi An.
However, what truly sets Namia apart is the way wellness serves as the central focus of the stay, rather than simply an additional service.
The MICHELIN Guide also highlights how the resort draws on Vietnamese wellness traditions to create an experience closely connected with nature and tranquility.
The presence of three MICHELIN Key hotels, together with other restaurants recognized by the MICHELIN Guide, is broadening the ways travelers can explore Da Nang.
Vietnam makes an impressive debut in the MICHELIN Keys Selection, with 21 hotels recognized: two with Three MICHELIN Keys, four with Two Keys and 15 with One Key.
Among over 9,000 hotels in the global MICHELIN selection, only 155 received Three Keys in 2026. Capella Hanoi remains its place in this select group and is also one of only two hotels in Vietnam to receive the highest tier.
According to the MICHELIN Guide, design and setting are among the key factors that make the hotels on the list stand out.
Some properties draw on Vietnamese architecture and historical depth, while others create secluded retreats amid mountains, beaches or natural landscapes.
Many resorts also combine accommodation with wellness treatments inspired by Vietnamese traditions.
The inclusion of 21 Vietnamese properties in the system shows the expanding landscape of high-end accommodation in Vietnam, from major cities such as Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City to resort destinations including Sa Pa, Da Nang, Ninh Binh and Phu Quoc.
If the MICHELIN Star is the familiar rating system for restaurants, the MICHELIN Key can be understood as its counterpart for hotels.
Properties are assessed based on criteria such as their ability to serve as a gateway to discovering a destination; excellence in architecture and interior design; the highest quality and character of service; the balance between experience and value; and the distinctive identity of each hotel.
MICHELIN Keys are awarded at three levels. A One MICHELIN Key signifies a very special stay, two MICHELIN Keys denote an exceptional experience, and three MICHELIN Keys indicate an extraordinary stay.
