DNO - Truong Hai Group, formerly known as Truong Hai Auto Corporation (THACO), has just announced an ambitious goal: to contribute approximately VND 20 trillion (around US$ 800 million) to Da Nang's budget in 2025.
The cited statement was officially made by the group’s leaders during a working session with the Standing Committee of the Da Nang Party Committee on August 14.
THACO is one of Southeast Asia’s leading multi-industry corporations, comprising six member groups, four of which are registered in Da Nang.
The company employs over 62,000 people, including more than 16,000 at the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone in Da Nang, where total investment has exceeded US$ 4.3 billion. The group operates across various vehicle segments for both domestic and export markets.
Currently, THACO is implementing five major projects in Chu Lai: the 451-hectare THACO Chu Lai Industrial Park; a 115-hectare Automotive Mechanical Industrial Park expansion; the Cua Lo channel dredging and infrastructure connection to Tam Hiep and Tam Hoa ports; the 188.56-hectare Chu Lai Urban Area; and Phase 2 of the 1,014-hectare Tam Hoa - Tam Tien residential, service, and tourism complex.
Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang praised THACO’s comprehensive and sustainable growth, as well as its major contributions to Da Nang.
Since its establishment, the group has paid a cumulative VND231 trillion to local budgets and has been instrumental in developing a skilled workforce, with a large proportion of employees being local residents.
Da Nang leaders reaffirmed THACO’s status as a strategic investor in Da Nang’s socio-economic development, pledging to provide consistent support and favorable conditions for its growth.
In particular, THACO was encouraged to set a higher budget contribution target of at least VND 25 trillion within the next two years and to participate in strategic infrastructure projects, including urban railway lines, slated for the 2025 - 2030 period.
Da Nang authorities expressed confidence that THACO will continue to expand its role as a specialized industrial leader in key sectors, particularly rail transport and infrastructure equipment manufacturing, driving the city’s long-term economic and industrial advancement.
