DNO - THACO Group, one of Vietnam’s leading industrial conglomerates, is spearheading a series of major development projects in Da Nang's Chu Lai Open Economic Zone, reinforcing its pivotal role in the automotive and high-tech manufacturing sectors.
Da Nang People's Committee Permanent Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh and Vice Chairman Phan Thai Binh recently met with THACO leadership and toured several of its production facilities.
During the meeting, THACO reported the implementation of 10 key projects in Chu Lai, including the flagship Automotive Mechanical Industrial Park worth VND983 billion of investment covering 243 hectares.
The park is currently 80% occupied, with over 50 active investors. An additional 115-hectare expansion, valued at VND1,433 billion, is slated to begin in August 2025.
Other ongoing THACO initiatives include the 451-hectare THACO Chu Lai Industrial Park (now in the site clearance and infrastructure phase), the 188-hectare Chu Lai Urban Area, a 143-hectare Port and Logistics Industrial Zone and the over-1,000-hectare Tam Hoa - Tam Tien Urban, Service and Tourism Complex.
The city leaders emphasised Da Nang’s strategic focus on attracting hi-tech industries, especially in electronics and semiconductors.
As part of this push, the city will host three upcoming forums on semiconductors, blockchain and finance, aiming to foster investor connections and technological exchange.
Da Nang also pledged support in easing administrative barriers to ensure the dual success of THACO in Chu Lai and the broader industrial expansion in the city’s northern area.
