(QNO) - Responding to the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination campaign launched on July 10, 2021, THACO offered 63 specialized trucks for transporting vaccines and 63 others for mobile vaccination to the Ministry of Health of Vietnam.
These over-VND-150-billion trucks were manufactured at THACO plant in Chu Lai within 2 weeks right after the Government’s call.
Just in a short period of time, all the staffs of THACO had to work very hard to complete the trucks with quality assurance on schedule in the hope that they could partly contribute to the Covid-19 prevention and control.
The trucks were manufactured with modern technological lines transferred from Mitsubishi Fuso Trucks & Bus Corporation.
The specialized vehicles for transporting vaccines is equipped with a new- generation Carrier Citimax refrigeration system made in the United Sates which has a rapid cooling capacity and is environmentally friendly, ensuring that vaccines are well transported and preserved as requested by the Ministry of Health.
The specialized trucks for mobile vaccination are designed to meet the requirements of safe and effective vaccination in areas with difficult travel conditions in Vietnam.
At the same time, they can be used to collect samples for Covid-19 testing.
It is well-known that THACO’s products have a high localization rate, about over 50%, being popular with domestic customers and exported to ASEAN countries including Thailand and the Philippines.
THACO is running based on the strategy of taking part in the global value chain in the production of automobiles and spare parts, providing jobs for 55,000 people in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
In the complicated context of Covid-19, THACO’s factories and plants in the THACO- Chu Lai industrial park located in Quang Nam province are still operating in combination with effective epidemic prevention.
Since the outbreak of Covid-19, in addition to these trucks, THACO has supported over VND 100 billion for the epidemic prevention in different localities in Vietnam.
