Switzerland and Da Nang discuss key cooperation sectors

Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Ho Ky Minh, on July 14, met with representatives of the Swiss-Asian Chamber of Commerce (SwissCham Asia) and the Singularity Academy to discuss potential areas of collaboration.

During the meeting, Dr. iur. Urs Lustenberger, the President of SwissCham Asia, proposed several practical cooperation initiatives for Da Nang.

These include developing high-tech healthcare services; establishing a mental health clinic in the city to serve middle-income residents, expatriates and international visitors; producing pharmaceuticals derived from Ngoc Linh ginseng, setting up an international arbitration center within the Vietnam International Financial Center in Da Nang, and providing artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to support public administration.

Prof. Dr. ir. Ying Zhang, the Founder of Singularity Academy noted that Da Nang's ambitious development strategy requires a highly skilled workforce capable of supporting its long-term goals.

The academy expressed its willingness to assist the city in training professionals in key sectors identified as development priorities.

Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh welcomed the strategic proposals presented by SwissCham Asia and the Singularity Academy.

He also directed relevant municipal departments and agencies to facilitate the early implementation of projects in Da Nang based on the Memorandum of Understanding previously signed with the Da Nang government.

The city official added that Da Nang will organize further working sessions with SwissCham Asia and the Singularity Academy focusing on cooperation in science, technology, and finance.

He reaffirmed Da Nang's commitment to creating favourable conditions for investors and potential partners seeking opportunities for cooperation, investment, and business development in this central Vietnamese city.
