The homestay exchange program between Da Nang and Changwon pupils has been organized by the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs since 2017.

As part of the homestay program from July 24 - 29, nine pupils from junior high schools in Changwon were taken to visit a number of Da Nang's popular tourist attractions. Included were the Da Nang Museum, the city's Fine Arts Museum, the Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong (classical drama) Theater, and the Da Nang Cathedral.

In addition, they had the opportunity to participate in dancing activities at the Da Nang Children's Palace, experience pottery making at the Thanh Ha Pottery Village, and explore the Hoi An Ancient Town.

Notably, 9 families in Da Nang hosted the South Korean pupils, giving them a chance to experience local life to better understand Vietnamese culture, and to foster stronger friendships with local pupils.

Through the program, South Korean pupils gained deeper insight into Vietnamese culture, as well as met and built good friendships with Vietnamese peers. This helped promote the image of a modern, friendly, and hospitable Da Nang to international friends, whilst contributing to strengthening and tightening the cooperative and friendly exchange relationship between Da Nang and Changwon in particular, and between Vietnam and South Korea in general.

According to the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs, the homestay exchange program between Da Nang and Changwon pupils has been organized since 2017 and achieved many positive results.

This year’s program marked a restart after a period of temporary suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It also offered participating pupils valuable opportunities to deepen their understanding of culture, life, and friendship between the two countries.
