(QNO) - On April 18, in Tam Ky city, the Quang Nam Department of Construction and Daum Engineering (South Korea) held a meeting on the smart bridge maintenance technology project.
The meeting, attended by South Korean experts, the Vietnam Road Administration, and local representatives, discussed the smart bridge maintenance technology project in Quang Nam.
Funded by the South Korean government with 4.75 billion won (equivalent to VND 90 billion), the project aims to enhance the skills of Quang Nam engineers in bridge safety and maintenance using smart technology.
It includes installing smart devices on two pilot bridges (Nguyen Van Troi and Truong Giang) for monitoring and timely repairs, as well as developing safety inspection guidelines and transferring technology to Quang Nam for future use.
At the meeting, Tran Ngoc Thanh, Deputy Director of the Quang Nam Department of Construction, said that the project, launched on December 29, 2021, began amid challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic, with most activities conducted online.
Despite language barriers and differing regulations, the project is nearly complete thanks to the efforts and coordination of both countries' agencies and experts.
The meeting also saw the Quang Nam Department of Construction, along with South Korean contractors, presenting the project’s results. Participants offered feedback and completed the final report.
The Department will continue using the donated equipment effectively and collaborate with South Korea on future projects
