DNO - The Man Thai fishing village is located in Son Tra Ward dubbed the most developed coastal tourism center in Da Nang. The village still retains its rustic, rural appearance amid high-rise hotels and bustling streets.

Man Thai’s culture is closely associated with the sea. The Cau Ngu (Fish Worshipping) Festival, which is held annually in early spring at the beginning of the fishing season, is considered the soul of the spiritual life of local fishermen.

Not only is it a spiritual ritual to pray for a favourable fishing season, the festival is also an occasion for the community to honour their ancestors who discovered and built this land.

One of the typical images of the Man Thai fishing village is the early-morning fish market on the beach. The Man Thai Beach becomes busy from 3am - 4am each day as coracles and fishing vessels full of fresh fish and shrimp return to shore after last night's inshore fishing trips.

The bustling sounds of both buyers and sellers create a symphony of simple and lively everyday life.

The market is not only a place for seafood trading, but also a beloved stop for many tourists. Some people wake up early to buy fresh seafood, whilst others come not to buy or sell anything but just to experience an authentic coastal life in the heart of the city.

Despite the strong development of the coastal Son Tra Ward, Man Thai still retains its unique charm and its rustic, quiet beauty.

Thanks to its peaceful scenery, a close-knit community and profound indigenous culture, Man Thai is gradually becoming an ideal destination for those who want to escape from the hustle and bustle of daily lives.

Visitors can check in at the crystal-clear beach, go for a stroll along the colorful mural road, or directly immerse themselves in the lives of local fishermen through such exciting activities as net pulling, rowing, surfing, fishing, SUP rowing, diving, and enjoying freshly-caught seafood.

Along with traditional experiences, Man Thai today puts on a modern color through international art and sports events such as the Ironman 70.3 Da Nang, and the DANA COLOR RACE stand-up paddleboard competition.

One of this summer’s most unique highlights is the installation art space themed "Story of Fishing Village" which is inspired by the life, work and beliefs of local fishermen.

Amidst Da Nang’s constant development, Man Thai still needs to be preserved as a part of a living memory of the city. Sustainable tourism development associated with cultural preservation, environmental protection, and village tradition upholding, will be the best way for Man Thai to remain a destination that is both new and familiar.
