“Romeo and Juliet” ballet to be staged in Da Nang

DNO - A classical Russian ballet performance is scheduled to be held at the Trung Vuong Theatre in Da Nang at the end of March, marking the anniversary of the city's Liberation Day (March 29).

The ballet “Romeo and Juliet” is expected to be performed at 1:00 pm on March 29, 2026, at the Trung Vuong Theater, featuring the participation of 41 artists and staff members from the Russian State Ballet troupe.

The program is considered one of the cultural and artistic activities celebrating the anniversary of Da Nang’s Liberation Day (March 29).

At the same time, the event aims to strengthen cultural exchanges between Vietnam Russia, as well as to offer local audiences an opportunity to enjoy classical ballet.

Under the organizational plan, the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations (DAFO) will coordinate with the city branch of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association and the Consulate General Russia in Da Nang to implement the program. Funding is expected to be mobilized from socialized sources combined with the DAFO’s 2026 operational budget.

According to the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, prior to arriving in Da Nang, the Russian State Ballet troupe is scheduled to perform at the Ho Guom Theater in Ha Noi with two renowned ballets: “The Nutcracker” on March 25 and “Romeo and Juliet” on March 26 and 27.

Following the performances in Ha Noi, the troupe will continue with “Romeo and Juliet” in Da Nang on March 29, 2026. This will provide local audiences with access to and appreciation of Russian classical ballet, renowned for its refined technique and expressive movement language.
