(QNO) - Quang Nam province seeks investors to develop Chu Lai airport under its master plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision toward 2050. The project’s goal is to create an international aviation hub and boost regional economic growth.
Located in Tam Nghia commune (Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province) and approximately 10km from the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway, Chu Lai airport is classified as a 4F airport, covering an area of approximately 835.5 hectares.
The investment plan includes the construction of a new, fully equipped eastern runway measuring 3,048m × 45m, along with a comprehensive taxiway system featuring both parallel and connecting taxiways.
Additionally, the project will develop an aircraft apron with 32 - 40 parking positions, a passenger terminal designed to accommodate 10 million passengers per year, and a cargo terminal with a handling capacity of 1.5 million tons annually.
This strategic development aims to enhance Chu Lai airport’s infrastructure, supporting its role as a key aviation hub in the region.
