(QNO) - On the occasion of Laos’ traditional Bunpimay Festival, a delegation from Quang Nam provincial police, led by Major General Nguyen Huu Hop, paid official visits to the police departments of Sekong and Champasak provinces on April 9 - 10.
In Sekong, Major General Nguyen Huu Hop extended warm New Year greetings to Major General Khamban Phommanivong, Director of Sekong Police, and all officers and their families. He also celebrated them on the 64th anniversary of the Lao Police Force and the 41st anniversary of Sekong province and its police department.
Major General Khamban Phommanivong expressed sincere gratitude for the gesture and emphasised the importance of strengthening cooperation to fulfil shared responsibilities.
On this occasion, Major General Nguyen Huu Hop proposed hosting the 2025 Annual Bilateral Conference in mid-June in Quang Nam and suggested both sides work closely to ensure the event’s success.
In Champasak, on behalf of the Quang Nam Police, Major General Nguyen Huu Hop offered heartfelt wishes for health, happiness, and success to Major General Souphachan Sylaphet and his family, colleagues, and relatives.
Despite the absence of a shared border, Quang Nam and Champasak maintain long-standing ties in different areas such as economy, education, cultural heritage preservation, and security. The police forces of both provinces have nurtured a special relationship based on political trust, solidarity, and effective cooperation.
Major General Nguyen Huu Hop expressed a desire to formalise this partnership and enhance professional exchanges in the future.
On behalf of the Champasak Police, Major General Soukphachan Silaphet expressed gratitude for the warm New Year wishes from the Quang Nam Police and highlighted the strong relationship and future cooperation between the two forces.
