(QNO) - On April 10, Nguyen Duc Dung, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Quang Nam provincial Party Committee, together with Nguyen Manh Ha, Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Internal Affairs Department, visited and extended New Year greetings for Bunpimay to officials and staff at the Vietnamese Embassy in Vientiane, Laos.
Nguyen Minh Tam, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Vietnam to Laos, received the delegation and provided updates on the socio-economic development of Laos and the cooperative relationship between Quang Nam and Lao provinces.
Ambassador Tam requested continued support from Quang Nam in implementing cooperation programmes focused on education and healthcare, particularly with the border provinces of Sekong and Champasak, which have longstanding, close ties with Quang Nam.
The ambassador praised Quang Nam's efforts in strengthening relations with Lao localities and committed ongoing support and cooperation with the province to execute practical and effective partnership initiatives.
Nguyen Duc Dung expressed gratitude to Ambassador Tam for sharing timely insights on Laos’s economic progress and the significant developments observed in Sekong and Champasak provinces. He expressed delight at the continuous improvement of people's living standards in these areas.
Nguyen Duc Dung also requested further assistance from the ambassador in facilitating cooperative programmes between Quang Nam and Lao provinces, especially Sekong, Champasak, and Attapeu, to effectively meet local foreign relations needs and resolve existing challenges.
He emphasised the need for the government to establish special mechanisms and policies to attract more businesses and investors from Vietnam, particularly from Quang Nam, to create breakthroughs in leveraging strengths and potential areas for mutual development.
