(QNO) - On June 3, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism signed a decision to add the traditional festival Ba Chiem Son (Duy Trinh commune, Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province) to the national list of intangible cultural heritage.
The Ba Chiem Son Festival is held annually from the 10th to the 12th day of the first lunar month to commemorate and give thanks to the Ba Chiem Son figures for their contributions in offering protection, supporting the nation, and ensuring peace for the people- especially for the community of Chiem Son village and, more broadly, the areas along the Thu Bon River in Duy Xuyen District.
The worship of Ba Chiem Son reflects the unique local culture and aligns with the broader Vietnamese tradition of goddess worship.
The festival is meticulously coordinated between the local government’s organizing committee and the ritual committee of the traditional Chiem Son village community, ensuring that the event is conducted in an organized manner, honors traditional values and fulfills the community’s spiritual and religious aspirations.
Today, the Ba Chiem Son festival plays an important role as its unique cultural values create an attractive spiritual cultural tourism environment, drawing visitors to experience the festival and helping to increase income for the local community.
