(QNO) - On June 24, 2025, the Quang Nam provincial People's Council approved the 1/2,000-scale zoning plan for a tax-free zone linked to Tam Hoa port and the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone.
The tax-free zone covers over 744 hectares and includes various functional areas aligned with Tam Hoa Port and Chu Lai's development goals.
Land use breakdown:
Commercial & Service Land: 31.59 ha
Security Land: 2.5 ha
Public Facilities: 17.98 ha
Industrial Production, Warehousing, Port Area: 488.91 ha
Green Space: 93.12 ha
Infrastructure: 109.94 ha
The zone is divided into three key areas:
Commercial and Service Center: Featuring modern administrative offices, trade centres, and hotels designed to blend contemporary architecture with natural landscapes.
Industrial, Warehouse, and Port Area: Low-rise, large-scale buildings focusing on concentrated, cohesive architecture.
Port and Logistics Hub: Dedicated to port operations, logistics, and support services.
Key architectural highlights:
A commercial complex along the Truong Giang River in the north as a waterfront landmark.
Industrial operations centre in the south.
Logistics command centre near the eastern port.
Two main gateways are planned:
The western entrance connects to the Tam Hoa urban area.
The southern entrance links to Tam Hiep Industrial Zone, Chu Lai - Truong Hai Port, Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway, National Highway 1A, and the future high-speed railway freight station.
