The event invites visitors to explore the rich cultural heritage of the Co Tu people through hands-on activities, traditional cuisine, folk performances and encounters with local artisans.
A visit to the Co Tu Market offers more than a chance to browse local products. It is an opportunity to meet the people behind traditional crafts, learn how local dishes are made and discover the stories woven into everyday Co Tu life.
Begin your journey at the spaces dedicated to brocade weaving, bamboo and rattan weaving, and wood carving. Visitors can watch local artisans at work, learn about traditional materials and techniques, and try their hand at selected craft activities.
Let’s take time to ask about the patterns on a brocade fabric, the uses of woven household items or how traditional skills are passed down through generations.
These conversations offer a closer look at the craftsmanship and dedication behind each handmade product. Visitors can also choose locally made souvenirs, helping support artisans and preserve traditional occupations.
Under the theme “Flavors of the Mountains - Scents of the Forest - Warmth of Local People”, the food area offers an introduction to Co Tu culinary traditions.
Alongside sampling local dishes, visitors can take part in traditional food preparation activities, including rice pounding and making “banh sung trau”, a traditional Co Tu cake.
Try wrapping a cake, observe how local cooks prepare it and discover the stories and customs associated with the food.

Stalls featuring local agricultural produce, OCOP (One Commune- One Product) items and Hai Van specialties provide further opportunities to explore regional flavors, meet local vendors and purchase gifts directly from the community. These activities also help create more market opportunities for local producers.
Throughout the two-day event, visitors can enjoy traditional Co Tu art forms, performances of folk musical instruments and the lively “tung tung za za” dance.
On the evening of November 14, visitors can attend the opening ceremony, the launch of the Hai Van Ward Co Tu Cultural Preservation Club and the community art program “Co Tu: A Land of Memories”.
The market also features folk games such as stilt walking and stick pushing, as well as a pebble-painting workshop.
Visitors can explore displays of traditional tools, musical instruments and cultural products, while the “Colors of the Market” photo exhibition showcases the cultural heritage, landscapes and tourism potential of Hai Van Ward.
Whether you spend the morning exploring handicrafts, sampling local food or joining cultural performances, the market offers plenty of ways to connect with the local community at your own pace.
Let’s make November 14 - 15 a date to discover a different side of Da Nang, where the colors, flavors and hospitality of the Co Tu people await you.
