Advancing medical techniques

Da Nang considers investment in healthcare not only as an investment in social welfare but also as an important foundation for sustainable development.

Therefore, the city has consistently created favorable conditions for hospitals to strengthen international cooperation, apply advanced scientific and technological achievements, develop high-quality human resources and build a modern healthcare system.

In recent years, Da Nang Hospital has continuously expanded its international cooperation activities with focus on organizing scientific conferences.

In particular, the hospital recently welcomed a 21-member delegation of doctors from JASMINE (Japan) for a five-day visit and working program.

During the visit, the Japanese delegation and Da Nang Hospital's medical staff exchanged knowledge and shared experience in new techniques in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

The program also provided patients with access to consultations and treatment by experienced specialists, as well as advanced plastic surgery techniques, right in Da Nang.

In addition, Da Nang Hospital also hosted a delegation of 17 experts from TVD (the United States) as part of its international cooperation program. The purpose of the program was to strengthen professional exchanges, share experience and promote the development of specialized medical techniques.

Previously, the hospital also received a delegation from the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH) and Inje University of the Republic of Korea to further promote international cooperation in medical training.

According to Associate Professor Le Duc Nhan, Director of Da Nang Hospital, TVD experts return to the hospital every year to conduct professional exchanges, consultations, training and share treatment experience across various medical specialties.

These activities help strengthen the professional capabilities of healthcare workers, create opportunities to access advanced techniques and deliver tangible benefits to patients.

They also help reinforce Da Nang Hospital's reputation and standing within the international healthcare cooperation network.

Strengthening transfer of medical techniques

As part of its annual international cooperation program, Da Nang Hospital for Women and Children recently welcomed a delegation of medical experts from Italy affiliated with the Asia Injury Prevention Foundation (AIP Foundation).

During the program, international experts and the hospital’s medical team conducted screening examinations and in-depth consultations for 100 children, while performing reconstructive genital surgery on 11 patients.

According to hospital leaders, over the past 15 years, the program has helped thousands of children receive medical examinations and hundreds of children with congenital urogenital abnormalities undergo surgery.

According to Dr. Tran Dinh Vinh, Director of Da Nang Hospital for Women and Children, beyond its humanitarian significance, this program offers the hospital’s medical staff the opportunity to exchange experiences and learn advanced techniques from international experts, thereby gradually enhancing their professional expertise and the quality of patient care.

Earlier, a delegation of experts from Mayo Clinic, the United States, also visited Da Nang Hospital for Women and Children for professional exchanges on pediatric treatment and care.

Since early 2026, Da Nang's healthcare sector has coordinated the reception of and held working sessions with approximately 100 international delegations, organizations and partners from countries with advanced healthcare systems, including the Republic of Korea, the United States, Japan, Germany, France, Thailand and China.

Cooperation has focused on professional exchanges, clinical training, technology transfer, scientific research, medical equipment support and humanitarian medical services.
