A vibrant season of culture and festivals

Da Nang is gearing up for a vibrant year-end tourism season with a diverse program of cultural and artistic activities spanning the city center, UNESCO-recognized heritage sites and its western mountainous areas.

The season opened with the Da Nang Art Creatives Connection 2026 (DACC 2026), running from October 30 to November 8 at the Da Nang Museum and the Museum of Cham Sculpture.

Under the theme “History of Tomorrow”, the event features more than 20 activities, including exhibitions, performances, contemporary dance, interactive experiences, talks and creative community exchanges.

From November 18 to 24, the city will host its first large-scale, citywide Cultural Week for National Unity.

Activities will take place at Tien Son Sports Arena, cultural venues in Hoi An and My Son, Kham Duc Commune, as well as residential communities and public spaces.

The program will showcase traditional folk music and dance, ethnic costumes, cuisine, handicrafts and heritage practices, with local communities at its heart.

A special arts program on November 23 at Tien Son Sports Arena will bring together established Vietnamese artists and emerging musical talents.

In the city’s western region, the “Colors of Highland Culture” program is scheduled for November 26 in Kham Duc Commune, adding another cultural experience for visitors.

Hoi An Ancient Town, meanwhile, is continuing to refresh its tourism offerings while highlighting its rich heritage.

The Hoi An World Cultural Heritage Conservation Centre plans to introduce the Faifoo show, with regular performances, alongside the “Journey Through Memories” tour at the former Hoi An Prison relic site, offering visitors insights into local history.

This renowned town is also preparing for its first International Lantern Festival in early December. More than 10 countries have registered to participate, creating opportunities for cultural exchange and showcasing Hoi An’s appeal to international audiences.

The year-end celebrations will culminate in the New Year Festival, with activities extending from Bach Dang pedestrian street and both banks of Dragon Bridge to southern urban areas, including Hoi An, Quang Phu, Ban Thach, Tam Ky and Huong Tra.

On December 31, countdown celebrations welcoming 2027 are expected to take place simultaneously at Bien Dong Park, Tam Thanh Square and Tay Giang Square.

Highly inviting travel deals

Alongside the festival calendar, expanded air connectivity is expected to support visitor growth.

An estimated 12,200 flights are projected to arrive in Da Nang during the fourth quarter of 2026, carrying around 2.1 million passengers, up 3.94% and 11.3%, respectively, from the same period last year.

New international services include Vietnam Airlines’ Singapore - Da Nang route from November 17, Thai Airways’ Bangkok - Da Nang service from December 1, and Vietjet Air’s routes linking Da Nang with Osaka, Japan, and Jakarta, Indonesia, from December 20.

Charter flights from Malaysia, the Philippines, Hong Kong (China) and Taiwan (China) will also continue, strengthening access from key international markets. Meanwhile, major tourism and hospitality operators are rolling out promotional offers to encourage travel and extend visitor stays.

Participating destinations and properties include Sun World Ba Na Hills, VinWonders Nam Hoi An, Vinpearl Resort & Golf Nam Hoi An, Namia River Retreat, Four Points by Sheraton Danang, The Pearl Hoi An, Mikazuki Water Park 365, Nui Than Tai Hot Springs Park and Hoi An Memories Land.

According to the Da Nang Tourism Association, the combined appeal of culture, heritage, arts and service promotions is highly expected to provide visitors with a wider range of experiences while enhancing the city’s tourism image.

With festivals across urban and heritage spaces, improved air links and attractive travel packages, Da Nang is looking to build momentum towards the New Year 2027 celebrations and strengthen its position as a year-round destination.
