Da Nang targets high-quality FDI to drive sustainable economic growth
DNO - Da Nang has been focusing on leveraging its expanded development space to attract high-quality foreign direct investment (FDI), build a modern investment ecosystem and develop an international financial center.

Increasing investment capital and enhancing investment quality
In recent years, Da Nang has identified foreign direct investment (FDI) as one of the key drivers of economic growth, economic restructuring and enhanced competitiveness.
During the 2021 - 2025 period, the city attracted over US$2.07 billion in FDI. As of September 20, 2026, Da Nang had a combined total of 1,162 FDI projects with registered capital of around US$11.28 billion.
Numerous corporations from the United States, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Singapore and Europe have chosen the city as an investment destination.
Notably, in the first nine months of 2026, Da Nang attracted US$681.55 million in FDI, about 2.87 times the figure recorded in the same period of 2025, equivalent to an increase of around 186.6%.
The city granted licenses to 100 new projects with total registered capital of US$522.22 million, in comparison with 77 projects worth US$145.77 million in the same period last year.
Additional capital for existing projects reached US$142.46 million, nearly double the year-earlier figure.
These results reflect a significant increase in registered investment capital, providing additional resources for the city’s economic development.

Leveraging advantages to build modern investment ecosystem
Following the merger, Da Nang has a diverse transport infrastructure network, including Da Nang International Airport and Chu Lai International Airport, the ports of Tien Sa, Lien Chieu and Chu Lai, and connections to the North-South Expressway, the national railway network, the East-West Economic Corridor and international shipping routes.
These advantages provide a foundation for the development of logistics, international trade, high-tech industries and supply chain support services in the city.
In addition, the city’s rich cultural and tourism resources, together with its diverse natural ecosystems, create further investment opportunities in services, resort development and the urban economy.
Under the city’s new development framework, the Da Nang Free Trade Zone, the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and the International Financial Center are expected to serve as key hubs connecting manufacturing, trade, technology and international capital.
In the near future, the city aims to develop new financial products, strengthen links with international capital markets, explore blockchain-based financial models and expand capital mobilization channels to support development investment.
It also enhances regional integration with localities across the North Central and Central Coast regions, reinforcing its role as an international gateway for logistics, finance, innovation, and research and development.
Regional connectivity will help expand markets, improve access to raw materials, labor and supporting services, and enable businesses to participate more deeply in global value chains.
As global competition for investment intensifies, Da Nang’s advantages lie not only in its market size and investment incentives, but also in its ability to integrate infrastructure, technology, finance and human resources within a single ecosystem.
Effectively leveraging these strengths will help translate registered investment capital into tangible production capacity, technological advancement and real economic value.
With a focus on high-value-added industries, Da Nang eyes improving the efficiency of FDI utilization, promoting technology transfer and increasing the contribution of domestic enterprises.
These efforts will lay the groundwork for more sustainable development, strengthen the city's competitiveness and consolidate its role in regional and international economic networks.
