A key focus of the working visit was a discussion session with the Daegu government and relevant organizations on plans for the operation, programming, and effective use of the Da Nang - Daegu Business Lounge, a technology and innovation showcase space linking the two cities.

Officially inaugurated and put into operation at 58 Nguyen Chi Thanh Street, Hai Chau Ward, Da Nang on August 18, 2026, the Da Nang - Daegu Business Lounge serves as a regular focal point connecting the innovation ecosystems of the two cities.

In detail, discussions centered on coordination mechanisms, technology showcases and demonstrations, connections among businesses, startups, and investors, as well as opportunities for research cooperation, practical applications, and technology transfer.

Agreeing on operational priorities is expected to strengthen the space’s role as a practical bridge, helping organizations and businesses in both cities find partners, access new technologies and explore new markets.

Also, during the Daegu visit, the Da Nang delegation visited the Future Innovation Tech Expo (FIX 2026). This major international technology event highlights hands-on tech experiences and global collaborations at EXCO, Daegu from October 21 - 24.

FIX 2026 features a record 588 companies participating across 1,820 booths, with the proportion of overseas enterprises rising from 17% last year to 28% in 2026.

This year’s event, themed “AI, Beyond Technology, Becoming Daily Life”, showcases cutting-edge technologies and industrial applications in key sectors: future mobility, robotics, information, and communication technology (ICT), and startups.

Emerging technologies are presented through hands-on experiences, including virtual reality simulations of urban air mobility, test drives of next-generation electric vehicles and demonstrations of AI solutions.

The Da Nang delegation also visited Kyungpook National University (KNU), one of the RoK’s long-established and reputable public universities.

Founded in 1946 in Daegu, this university has strengths in engineering, information technology, medicine, and business administration.

The Da Nang delegation met with the university’s Startup Acceleration and Entrepreneur Development Centre to learn how the university can contribute to research and technology development, business incubation and resource mobilization for the startup ecosystem.

Here, Da Nang businesses introduced their capabilities, areas of operation and cooperation needs, paving the way for discussions on potential partnerships with Korean counterparts.

Besides, the two sides exchanged experience in developing innovation ecosystems and strengthening links among authorities, research institutes, universities, businesses, startups, and investors.
