Da Nang’s Tien Phuoc ginger project reaches Green Startup 2026 final
DNO - A startup project built around Tien Phuoc ginger, a distinctive local agricultural product from Da Nang, has secured a place in the final of the 12th Green Startup Competition 2026, highlighting the potential of local produce to drive sustainable livelihoods and community development.

The project, titled “Enhancing the Value of Tien Phuoc Ginger - Creating Sustainable Livelihoods for Mountainous Women,” was developed by Pham Thi My Nuong, a contestant from Da Nang.
According to the Business Studies and Assistance Center (BSA), 34 outstanding ideas and projects were selected for the final following three semi-final rounds held in Northern Vietnam, Central Vietnam and Central Highlands regions, and southern Vietnam.
The Tien Phuoc ginger initiative is among the projects advancing to the final this year. Grown in Tien Phuoc, a midland and mountainous area in southern Da Nang, ginger is a local agricultural product with potential for further economic development.
The project seeks to increase its value by developing local agricultural products while creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for women in mountainous communities.
By building on local agricultural resources, the initiative aims to connect the value of a regional specialty with inclusive economic development, helping women improve their livelihoods and contributing to the wider development of local communities.
A place in the final will give the project an opportunity to showcase its products and connect with experts, businesses, and investors. It could also help the initiative access expertise and solutions to improve production capacity, strengthen branding and expand into new markets.
The final of the 12th Green Startup competition is scheduled for October 31 and November 1, 2026, in the southern metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City.
The annual competition provides a platform for startup ideas and projects that promote green growth, encourage the sustainable use of local resources, and combine environmental protection with economic and social benefits.
