Da Nang Water Supply JSC recently broke ground on a major water transmission pipeline project, aiming to improve clean water supply to the city’s southeastern areas, including Hoa Xuan and Ngu Hanh Son wards.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place at the intersection of Vo Chi Cong and Mai Chi Tho streets in Hoa Xuan Ward. The project has a total investment of VND155 billion (approximately US$6 million) and covers more than 10 kilometers of pipeline.

According to the project’s investor, the main transmission pipeline will run along Vo Chi Cong Street, connecting the existing 1,200mm - diameter water supply pipeline on Thang Long Street with Tran Dai Nghia Street.

The project also includes a branch pipeline with a diameter of 400mm along Minh Mang Street, linking Vo Chi Cong Street with Truong Sa Street. This connection is designed to reinforce the water distribution network serving the city’s southeastern coastal areas.

Once completed and operational, the project is expected to add approximately 40,000 cubic meters per day to the area’s water transmission capacity.

The additional capacity is expected to help address persistently low water pressure in some parts of Hoa Xuan and Ngu Hanh Son wards, improving access to clean water for households, manufacturing facilities, businesses and service providers.

The project is also intended to improve pressure regulation and strengthen links between sections of Da Nang’s water supply network.

Greater connectivity will give operators more flexibility in managing the system and distributing water to meet changing demand.

As Da Nang continues to expand its residential and urban areas, reliable water infrastructure is becoming increasingly important to accommodate population growth and economic activity.

The new pipeline is expected to support the development of future residential neighborhoods and urban projects.

In addition to increasing transmission capacity, the investment is aimed at making the water supply network more resilient and better equipped to serve both existing communities and future development.
