Meanwhile, city authorities are stepping up efforts to diversify export markets, strengthen business competitiveness and integrate local companies more deeply into global supply chains.

Businesses scale up production and pursue new markets

Da Nang Rubber Joint Stock Company (DRC) has focused on expanding production of passenger car radial (PCR) and light truck radial (LTR) tires, as well as all-steel radial tires.

It is also developing new products for deep-water ports, railways, and infrastructure construction.

With products exported to 50 countries and territories around the world, DRC is seeking to strengthen its presence in domestic and international markets in tandem with advancing green manufacturing, researching a new factory project, and increasing its participation in industrial supply chains.

As reported by Le Hoang Khanh Nhut, DRC’s General Director, the company’s export revenue target of US$129 million for 2026 was achievable.

In the final months of the year, DRC plans to expand trade promotion and market connections, creating more opportunities for its technical rubber products to be used in construction, transport, and seaport projects.

The company will also continue investing in science and technology, innovation, productivity, and product quality to enhance its competitiveness and support future growth.

In a similar vein, Daiwa Vietnam Co., Ltd., a foreign-invested enterprise, is accelerating efforts to increase the share of exports by 15 - 20% compared with 2025.

According to the company’s General Director Nguyen Van Phu, the target is within reach given the company’s positive business performance in recent months, stable orders and continued employment and income for its more than 3,600 workers.

Targeted support to strengthen Da Nang’s global trade links

To help businesses overcome these challenges, the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade is stepping up support for exports to key markets, including the United States, Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, the European Union, and Muslim-majority markets.

It is also encouraging businesses to make better use of next-generation free trade agreements, particularly the EU - Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

According to Huynh Xuan Son, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade, the city was combining long-term strategic measures with targeted support for specific export sectors and markets.

For major destinations such as the United States, Japan and the EU, the Department is helping businesses prepare documentation demonstrating legal sourcing, strengthen origin-control procedures and address trade-remedy requirements.

These measures are essential for meeting market standards and making effective use of free trade agreements.

Support is also tailored to individual industries. For wood and wood products, textiles, garments, footwear and leather goods, priorities include updating businesses on consumer trends, environmental and labor standards, sustainable supply chains, and opportunities to connect with major distributors and specialized importers.

For machinery, equipment, electronic components and supporting industries, the focus is on strengthening links with industrial groups, foreign-invested companies and manufacturers operating in global supply chains.

Processed agricultural products, food, products under Vietnam’s One Commune One Product (OCOP) program and traditional craft goods are being promoted as promising exports to ASEAN, the EU, China, and the Middle East.

The Department is now coordinating with Vietnamese trade offices and commercial counsellors overseas while expanding connections with supermarket chains, importers, and cross-border e-commerce platforms.

Nguyen Cong Tien, Deputy Head of the Da Nang Specific Economic Zones Authority (DSEZA) said the agency was promoting digital transformation by applying information technology to trade promotion, management, and import-export procedures.

DSEZA is also supporting a shift toward high-tech goods, products with greater added value and deeply processed agricultural products that meet traceability and food safety requirements. Improvements to logistics infrastructure and strategic transport links are being accelerated to reduce shipping times and costs.

For Da Nang, the year-end export push is therefore about more than meeting immediate targets. By upgrading production, diversifying markets, and improving connections with international supply chains, the city is seeking to build a more competitive export base and create stronger momentum for growth in 2027.
