At a recent meeting Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi highlighted the night-time economy as a new growth driver.
She stressed the need to develop distinctive experiences in tandem with balancing economic interests with cultural preservation, environmental protection, public security and local communities’ interests.
The city’s administration has expressed support in principle for further research into a proposed tourism, service, leisure and entertainment complex linked to night-time economic development by FTZ Kita Trung Nam Co., Ltd. The proposal is expected to contribute to the development of new tourism products.

The Department must report to the municipal People’s Committee for consideration before October 20, 2026. The municipal Land Fund Development Centre will also coordinate site surveys and clarify relevant issues to support the project’s assessment.
The investor has been asked to work closely with relevant authorities to complete its proposal and related documentation in accordance with regulations.
At the meeting, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi called for a coordinated, multi-sector approach to developing the night-time economy, encompassing diverse spaces and experiences.
Under Politburo Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW dated August 22, 2026, on developing tourism into a key economic sector in the new era, Da Nang is among three localities, alongside the capital city of Ha Noi and the southern metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City, selected for focused implementation.
The city’s approach places cultural identity and creative industries at the center of efforts to strengthen its competitiveness.
By combining tourism, entertainment and cultural experiences, Da Nang aims to encourage visitors to explore the city beyond daytime attractions while creating new economic opportunities.
