DNO - Da Nang’s tourism sector continued its strong growth in the first nine months of 2026, with accommodation establishments serving an estimated 15.86 million visitors, up 26.4% from the same period last year.

According to figures recently released by the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, international visitors to the city accounted for approximately 7.73 million of the total, an increase of 28.7% year on year, while domestic visitors reached 8.13 million, up 24.3%.

With visitor numbers rising across both major markets, tourism-related services have continued to gain momentum.

Revenue from accommodation and food services was estimated at VND52.945 trillion during the nine-month period, representing a 26.2% increase from a year earlier.

The travel sector also maintained its upward trajectory. Revenue from travel services reached an estimated VND4.028 trillion, up 16.5%, while travel companies served approximately 1.35 million package-tour visitors, an increase of 14.7% year on year.

In addition to volume growth, Da Nang has been expanding higher-value tourism segments, including international weddings and meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE).

During the first eight months of the year, the city welcomed and supported 40 international wedding events. In August alone, it hosted 29 MICE groups comprising 7,574 visitors.

Tourism products have also been refreshed through closer integration with the “Da Nang – Touching the Original” event ecosystem, the city’s tourism stimulus programme for the National Day holiday on September 2, and eco-cultural experiences in western Da Nang, including Leaf Village, Toom Sara Village and Dong Giang Heaven Gate.

Meanwhile, travel businesses have increasingly linked tourism products with sports, culinary and inter-regional events, seeking to diversify visitor experiences while extending the period over which demand can be sustained.

Technology is also playing a growing role in reshaping the visitor experience. Among the solutions being deployed are the VR360 AI Smart Tourism Map, the Customer Data Platform (CDP) integrated into the Danang FantastiCity portal, and the AI-powered automated interpretation service “Inner-city cyclo tour”.

The nine-month results point to a tourism market that is expanding across multiple dimensions, with growth being recorded not only in accommodation demand but also in service revenue, package tours and specialized visitor segments.

While international and domestic markets remain the main pillars of Da Nang’s tourism industry, the 41.6% increase in Vietnamese outbound travel also points to growing activity in both directions.

This broader market movement provides a basis for tourism businesses to further diversify products and destinations while strengthening cross-regional tourism connections in the months ahead.
