Attendees at the event were AVA Secretary-General Susan Widjojo; Chairman of the AVA for the 2025 - 2026 term and Director General of the Price Management Department, the Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance, Nguyen Minh Tien; Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Tran Nam Hung; and over 300 domestic and international delegates.
The AVA28 congress provides an opportunity for the association members to share experience and learn about emerging trends while exploring how these can be applied in ways suited to each country’s circumstances.
For Vietnam, the congress serves as a chance to strengthen ties with the international valuation community while sharing the country’s experience and practices in developing the valuation profession.
At the congress, representatives of AVA member countries present reports on the valuation activities and related issues in their respective countries, alongside numerous presentations by domestic, regional, and international valuation experts.

In his opening remarks, Director of the Price Management Department and AVA’s Chairman for the 2025-2026 term Nguyen Minh Tien emphasized that the AVA is well-positioned to connect the knowledge and experience of its members.
In the new stage, the AVA should promote its role not merely as an annual meeting but as a network for an extensive, substantive, and highly effective professional cooperation that satisfies the development requirements of every country.
This cooperation aims to enhance the capabilities of the ASEAN valuation community and improve adaptability to market and technological changes, thereby further strengthening the quality, professionalism, and credibility of valuation activities across the region.
As the host country and Chairman of the AVA for the 2025 - 2026 term, Vietnam hopes to actively contribute to the association's activities and foster the sharing of experiences and professional cooperation among members while jointly promoting the professional and sustainable development of the valuation sector within ASEAN.
In his welcoming remarks, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Tran Nam Hung noted that Da Nang holds a strategic position on the East-West Economic Corridor. It serves as a key gateway connecting Central Vietnam with countries in the Greater Mekong Subregion and ASEAN. Based on this foundation, the city is focusing on implementing significant and new development drivers.
Da Nang pays special attention to the theme of the AVA28 congress and believes that the professional exchanges, experiences, and initiatives shared during the event will not only be meaningful to the valuation community but also contribute to strengthening connectivity and cooperation among ASEAN countries.
The city always appreciates the expansion of international cooperation and welcomes investors, financial institutions, professional organizations, experts, and businesses who come to Da Nang to learn about opportunities for cooperation and shared growth with the locality, said Vice Chairman Tran Nam Hung.

The AVA28, organized by the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam, will run until October 2.
During the working sessions, the delegates concentrate on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and big data to innovate valuation practices, accountability in automatic valuation models, strategies for developing AVM tools that align with valuation standards, and solutions for building trust in markets with limited data availability.
Alongside identifying and quantifying environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors, assessing the impact of “green elements” on the value of assets and projects is being discussed at the congress.
The AVA was established in June 1981 by five member countries: Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand. Vietnam officially joined the AVA in 1999. The AVA annual congress is hosted on a rotating basis among member countries.
It serves as the association's most important event by offering a platform for members to exchange knowledge, update standard regulations, and enhance capabilities while fostering professional connections regarding regional and global valuation.
