Ceremony held in Da Nang to celebrate 77th founding anniversary of the People’s Republic of China
DNO - The Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang held a ceremony on September 29 to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (October 1, 1949 - October 1, 2026) and to welcome new Chinese Consul General in Da Nang Li Weiwei on the occasion of her taking office in Vietnam.
Major General Nguyen Quoc Huong, Deputy Commander of Military Region 5; Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Tran Nam Hung; and Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Tran Thi Man attended the event.
Addressing the event, Chinese Consul General in Da Nang Li Weiwei stated that the top leaders of the two Parties and the two countries have set important political directions for the development of China - Vietnam relations in the new era.
She affirmed that the Consulate General of China in the city will promote the implementation of cooperation documents between China and Vietnam; and strengthen extensive exchanges with local authorities, business associations and enterprises in its consular jurisdiction.
She also encouraged businesses from the two countries to enhance connectivity and expand economic and trade cooperation, especially in areas such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors and the Internet of Things.
At the same time, the Consulate General will continue to enhance bilateral exchanges and cooperation in tourism, culture, media, education, healthcare and sports, while strengthening ties between sister localities.
On behalf of the city’s leaders, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Tran Nam Hung extended congratulations to Consul General Li Weiwei, all officials and staff of the Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang, as well as Chinese people and businesses living, working and investing in the city on the special occasion.
According to the Vice Chairman, Vietnam and China are close neighboring countries with a long-standing traditional friendship, nurtured through the dedicated efforts of President Ho Chi Minh, Chairman Mao Zedong and generations of leaders of the two countries.
Under the strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two Parties and the two countries, the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership has continued to develop positively and comprehensively, with increasingly substantive and in-depth cooperation.
As part of the positive relations between the two countries, Da Nang has consistently worked to promote friendship and cooperation with Chinese localities and partners.
The city has established official friendship and cooperation relations with a number of Chinese localities and regularly organizes delegation exchanges, cultural exchanges and people-to-people exchanges.
Vice Chairman Hung added that Da Nang wished to further deepen cooperation with Chinese localities and partners, strengthen exchanges of delegations at all levels, and promote cooperation in economy, trade, investment and tourism.
The city wanted to expand cooperation in high technology, semiconductors, innovation, finance, logistics, education and training, and people-to-people exchanges, he added.
On this occasion, Vice Chairman Tran Nam Hung congratulated Li Weiwei on her new assignment as Chinese Consul General in Da Nang.
He expressed his confidence that, during her tenure, Ms. Li Weiwei would continue to serve as an active bridge, contributing to the further development of substantive and effective friendship and cooperation between Da Nang and Chinese localities and partners.
