Fostering Da Nang and RoK's Pyeongtaek cooperation
DNO - The Da Nang People's Committee recently issued Official Dispatch No. 9690/UBND-SNG regarding the implementation of the memorandum of agreement to strengthen cooperation between the city and the government of Pyeongtaek City, Gyeonggi Province, the Republic of Korea (RoK).
Accordingly, the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs is assigned to act as a focal point for maintaining connectivity and information exchange with Pyeongtaek City, developing annual cooperation plans, connecting specialized agencies of both localities, monitoring and urging the implementation of agreed commitments, and coordinating the organization of student exchanges between the two cities.
The Da Nang Department of Science and Technology is tasked with enhancing the experience exchange regarding science and technology development policies, with a focus on the semiconductor industry and artificial intelligence (AI), promoting expert exchanges and technology transfer, and calling on Korean enterprises in the fields of semiconductor materials, components, and auxiliary equipment to invest in Da Nang.
Meanwhile, the Da Nang Department of Home Affairs is to promote cooperation in human resource exchange. The city's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is responsible for implementing cultural exchanges, tourism promotion, and visitor exchanges between the two localities.
The city’s Investment Promotion Agency under the Da Nang People's Committee Office will act as a focal point for organizing Da Nang-Pyeongtaek investment promotion activities while supporting Pyeongtaek’s enterprises and investors in learning about the investment climate and carrying out projects in Da Nang.
This agency also continues implementing the Memorandum of Understanding with the Pyeongtaek Chamber of Commerce and Industry while strengthening investment connection activities and business-to-business meetings between the two localities.
