Nearly 50 countries to attend World Culture Festival 2026 in Ha Noi
DNO - Nearly 50 countries, organizations and businesses worldwide will take part in the second Cultures of the World Festival in Ha Noi scheduled from October 1 to 4 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel.
Themed “Converging Heritage - Shaping the Future”, the event will be held to mark the 50th anniversary of Vietnam’s accession to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Boasting a larger scale and more diverse program than the inaugural edition, this year’s festival will feature a wide range of activities ranging from exhibitions, performances, cuisine, film screening, and fashion to music and interactive experiences.
Specifically, it will include 45 cultural spaces and 32 food stalls, while its film program has attracted registrations from 18 countries.
The fashion space will showcase traditional costumes from 19 countries, alongside performances by 20 international art troupes.
The opening and closing art programs will bring together numerous Vietnamese and international artists and art troupes.
Some performances will feature traditional Vietnamese musical instruments alongside foreign artists, while others will combine international instruments to present Vietnamese works.
A new highlight of this year’s festival is the "Spreading Creativity from Heritage - International Festival Games" area which aims to connect historical and cultural materials with technology.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with several businesses, will introduce video games inspired by Vietnam’s history and culture.
Accordingly, festival-goers will be able to experience the games, take part in interactive activities, and watch cosplay and dance performances from the game Audition, combined with LED screen effects.
According to the organizers, the area will offer an additional way to for visitors, especially young people, to engage with heritage through technology and contemporary creative products.
The activities are designed to create a diverse cultural space where countries can showcase their identities, heritage and distinctive cultural values, as well as open up new opportunities for cooperation in culture, the arts, tourism and the creative industries.
The festival will help position Ha Noi, a UNESCO Creative City, as a meeting point for global cultures, where traditional values are honoured, new forms of creativity are shared, and the bonds of friendship between Vietnam and its international partners are further strengthened.
