Held in response to thee World Tourism Day on September 27, the programme at My Son Sanctuary in Thu Bon Commune is designed to offer both domestic and international visitors a more immersive way to experience one of Da Nang’s most remarkable heritage destinations.

A highlight is an eco-tour through the green landscape of the My Son Valley, taking visitors beyond the famous temple towers to explore a medicinal herb garden, native plant species and the forest environment surrounding the sanctuary.

Visitors can also enjoy herbal foot soaks and leisurely walks beneath the forest canopy. The experience offers a different perspective on the UNESCO World Heritage Site, where ancient architecture and a rich natural landscape come together in a secluded valley.

Nature lovers can also explore a photography exhibition featuring wildlife and forest flora in My Son, showcasing the area’s biodiversity and highlighting the importance of protecting nature alongside the preservation of cultural heritage.

The programme also invites visitors to discover the living traditions of local communities through demonstrations and hands-on experiences, including Cham pottery shaping, brocade weaving, conical-hat making and stone carving.
A special cultural programme, “Colours of Cham, Kinh and Co Tu Culture”, will add another dimension to the experience, featuring traditional music, instruments and dances.

An exhibition of Cham musical instruments, artefacts and cultural materials will provide further insight into the region’s diverse heritage.

The programme will also host the seminar “My Son Green - A Journey of Heritage and Nature Experiences”, bringing together perspectives on heritage conservation, environmental protection and sustainable tourism development.

By combining heritage discovery with nature, culture and hands-on experiences, “My Son Green” aims to make a visit to My Son more engaging, meaningful and memorable, while opening up new possibilities for sustainable tourism in the southern part of Da Nang.
