Da Nang eyes regional data hub by 2045
DNO - The Da Nang People's Committee has issued a plan to implement the Prime Minister's decision regarding the approval of the National Data Strategy for the 2026 - 2030 period with a vision toward 2045 in the city.
Under the plan, by 2030, Da Nang targets to complete 100% of its participation in drafting, amending, and supplementing core legal documents and fully issue a system of data-related standards and technical regulations.
Additionally, all municipal departments, agencies, and localities will undergo annual assessments and rankings based on their level of data development and quality.
The city targets the digitization, standardization and cleansing of 100% of national databases, critical specialized databases and shared databases included in the approved list, following the principles of “accurate, complete, clean and live” data.
In terms of data workforce development, the city aims to provide training and professional development for at least 500 officials and public employees.
It will equip around 1,000 employees at businesses with skills in data, data analytics and artificial intelligence applications.
It also plans to build a core team of 100 - 200 data experts and establish between one and three higher education institutions offering programs and majors in data, artificial intelligence and data security.
With a vision to 2045, Da Nang strives to rank among the leading localities in terms of data governance, data exploitation and artificial intelligence development, and become an important regional hub for data storage, processing, connectivity, sharing and cross-border data transit.
