Loc Yen Ancient Village comes alive with festive activities
DNO - During the Loc Yen Village Festival in late August, every corner and pathway of the Loc Yen Ancient Village became alive with the footsteps of visitors. A series of engaging events held here left a wonderful impression on tourists.
Loc Yen Village’s ancient houses are widely regarded as a highly valuable architectural complex in terms of craftsmanship and artistic merit.
Having weathered different historical periods, Loc Yen Village has still retained the traditional cultural identity of the Vietnamese people, and the distinctive characteristics of a rural village in the Quang region.
Moss-covered ancient roofs, nestled amidst lush fruit orchards, bustled with the footsteps of visiting tourists in recent days. Local residents greeted guests with warmth and hospitality.
During the event, the more-than-150-year-old house of Mr. Nguyen Dinh Man, featuring a traditional three-bay, two-wing design made entirely from jackfruit wood, welcomed hundreds of visitors.
Mr. Man said visitors could do more than admire the ancient house and experience the traditional pottery wheel. They could also watch residents of Thanh Binh craft handicrafts and artworks from areca palm sheaths, experience the process of making flat rice noodles and enjoy freshly prepared noodles on site.
During the two-day festival, thousands of visitors came to the Loc Yen Ancient Village to take part in traditional folk games, shop for agricultural products and OCOP-certified products at the rural market, and experience unique products showcasing local village life.
With its outstanding eco-tourism resources, the Loc Yen - Thanh Binh site has been identified as one of the tourism destinations within Da Nang’s western priority tourism development zone. Preserving and promoting the cultural values of this area must be given top priority, with the Loc Yen Ancient Village, a national heritage site, receiving due attention.
