DNO - The Da Nang People's Committee has just issued a plan to implement the scheme on international integration and cooperation for the 2026 - 2030 period. It aims to develop Da Nang into a major socio-economic hub in Vietnam and Southeast Asia by 2030.

Regarding external affairs for the 2026-2030 period, Da Nang strives to expand friendly relations and formal cooperation with 8-10 foreign localities and organizations; facilitate the opening of 1-2 foreign consular offices or representative offices of international organizations in Da Nang; and host 1-3 delegations led by heads of state, royals, or high-ranking leaders for visits and working sessions.
The city will increase its participation in international and regional forums, host international conferences, and promote cooperation along the East-West Economic Corridor.
Regarding international economic integration, Da Nang will focus on finalizing and operating effectively the Free Trade Zone and the International Financial Center, attracting strategic investors, Fortune 500 corporations, and leading global technology firms to invest in sectors such as high-tech, semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), fintech, logistics, data centers, biotechnology, green energy, and innovation.
The city aims to rank among the top 10 localities nationwide for the effective implementation of free trade agreements (FTAs) while leveraging the advantages of the East-West Economic Corridor to become a regional logistics hub.
In the fields of science, technology, and innovation, Da Nang targets becoming one of the country's top three centers for microchip design and AI applications by 2030. The city aims for the digital economy to account for 35-40% of its Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and strives to enter the list of the world's top 50 smart cities.
International tourism remains a key focus for integration. The city plans to diversify its markets, prioritizing high-spending segments, and develop various tourism models, including beach resort, MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions); golf; medical; green; nightlife; and smart tourism.
For the 2026-2030 period, Da Nang aims to launch at least five new direct international flight routes while maintaining the stability of existing ones.
Regarding culture and city branding, Da Nang is strengthening international cooperation in heritage preservation, the development of cultural industries, creative urban planning, and sustainable tourism. It is also researching the roadmap to prepare a dossier for the Marble Mountains (Ngu Hanh Son) scenic landscape, aiming for nomination as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Additionally, the city is accelerating the digitization of heritage data and applying technologies such as 3D, AI, VR, and AR in the process of preservation, research, education, and the development of smart tourism.
Da Nang will develop a shared database of international partners and cooperation agreements and research the application of a multilingual digital assistant to support foreign organizations, investors, and individuals.
