Lao Consul General in Da Nang Congratulates City leaders on Vietnam’s National Day
DNO - Lao Consul General in Da Nang Vonkham Chuengmanivong, on the morning of August 26, visited and extended congratulations to Da Nang’s leaders on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2026).

The Lao delegation was received by Le Ngoc Quang, Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee.
Also attending the meeting were Doan Ngoc Hung Anh, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Council; Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People’s Committee; and Tran Thi Man, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang.
Consul General Vonkham Chuengmanivong extended her best wishes to Da Nang’s Party Committee, authorities and people on Vietnam’s National Day, praising the country’s achievements over the past 81 years and Da Nang’s growing contribution to national development.
She expressed hope that the enduring friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic cohesion between Vietnam and Laos would continue to deepen, bringing practical benefits to both peoples.

In response, Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang expressed his appreciation for the Lao Consul General’s visit and National Day greetings.
He said Da Nang and Lao localities, particularly provinces in Southern and Central Laos, have maintained regular exchanges through visits and experience-sharing, contributing to strengthening and nurturing bilateral friendship and cooperation.
Da Nang hopes existing commitments with Lao localities will continue to be actively implemented to deliver more practical results. The city has also assigned relevant agencies to review Lao proposals and will respond accordingly, with a strong commitment to fulfilling all agreements.
In particular, Da Nang will continue studying a proposal to support the establishment of a Vietnamese-language teaching centre in a Lao locality.
Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang congratulated Laos on its recent socio-economic achievements and expressed hope that its rapid and sustainable development would help advance high-level Vietnam - Laos commitments in investment and trade.
He reaffirmed Da Nang’s commitment to deepening the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic cohesion between Vietnam and Laos, as well as between Da Nang and Lao localities, for more practical results.
Regarding the ongoing upgrade of National Highway 14D to Nam Giang International Border Gate, he called for close Lao coordination, particularly in controlling the weight of vehicles transporting ores and construction materials across the border.
During peak periods, temporary traffic restrictions could be considered to facilitate construction and ensure safety and timely completion.

Le Ngoc Quang said that 2027 would be a significant year for Vietnam - Laos relations, marking the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations (September 5, 1962 - September 5, 2027) and the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (July 18, 1977 - July 18, 2027).
Da Nang will work with the Lao Consulate General to organise a solemn ceremony marking the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations, with the participation of city leaders and high-level delegations from Southern and Central Laos.
The city will also coordinate proposals for both countries to honour individuals and organisations that have made outstanding contributions to strengthening Vietnam - Laos relations.
