Da Nang starts two key transport infrastructure projects

DNO - The Da Nang People's Committee, on Tuesday, held a groundbreaking ceremony for two infrastructure projects for a traffic intersection cluster of Le Thanh Nghi-Cach Mang Thang Tam-Thang Long-the approach road to Hoa Xuan Bridge, and for Integrated Adaptive Development for former Quang Nam Province (now Da Nang).

In attendance at the groundbreaking ceremony were Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc, along with leaders from various ministries and agencies.

Representing Da Nang were Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Le Ngoc Quang, Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee cum Chairman of the Da Nang People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Manh Hung, and others.

According to a representative of the project owner, the two projects, with a combined investment of VND 4,294 billion, are significant for Da Nang's infrastructure development, enhancing the city's connectivity and resilience.

In particular, the Hoa Xuan traffic intersection cluster project, with a total investment of VND 1,571 billion, is considered a special-grade urban transport. It involves the construction of a grade-separated intersection system, underpasses, overpasses, and comprehensive technical infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the Adaptive Integrated Development project is classified as a Group A one, with a total investment of VND 2,723 billion, including loans from the World Bank. It comprises components for dredging and clearing the Truong Giang River, building six bridges across this river, and a flood drainage complex for the Tam Ky area.

These two projects help Da Nang enhance its transport connectivity, flood discharge capacity, disaster risk mitigation, and the resilience of the project area.

Alongside the Han, Co Co, and Truong Giang rivers, the projects will help establish a seamless inland waterway route from Cua Han to Cua Lo, opening up new opportunities for connectivity and trade, fostering tourism development, and effectively leveraging the socio-economic value associated with the city's river network.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized that the launch of these two projects serves as a concrete and practical activity to celebrate Vietnamese National Day (September 2).

These two projects address three critical requirements for Da Nang in its new phase of development: connectivity to expand the scope for growth; adaptability to ensure sustainable development; and safety to protect the well-being of the residents.

He urged the project owners and relevant partners to ensure the projects proceed on schedule, meet quality standards, and deliver effective results.
